The rules for using Zovia apps. Straightforward, no surprises.

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using any Zovia Studio app (**Zistil**, **Zots**, **Zyve**, **Zuzzle**, or future apps), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use our apps. It's that simple. These Terms are a legal contract between you and Zovia Studio ("we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of our mobile applications and related services.

Accounts and Responsibilities

Creating an Account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate, current information (especially your email for account recovery)
  • One person, one account (no account sharing across multiple people)
  • You may use your account across multiple devices (phone, tablet) - this is allowed and encouraged
  • You're responsible for keeping your account secure (use strong authentication methods)
  • You're responsible for all activity on your account
  • **Note:** Zuzzle allows anonymous play without an account. You can create an account later to sync your progress across devices.

Account Security

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at hello@zovia.studio. We'll help you secure your account. We're not liable for losses from unauthorized access if you didn't take reasonable steps to protect your account (e.g., sharing your password, using weak authentication).

Purchases and Payments

Free Tier

All Zovia apps offer full-featured free versions with usage limits. The free tier is supported indefinitely—no time limits, no forced upgrades. You can use Zovia apps forever without paying.

Premium and Gold Tiers

Most Zovia apps offer **one-time, lifetime purchases** with no recurring charges. However, some apps (like Zupply) offer subscription options for ongoing services.

  • **Premium tier:** Ranges from $2.99 to $49 depending on the app. Unlocks higher limits and additional features.
  • **Gold tier:** Ranges from $9.99 to $99 depending on the app. Unlocks unlimited usage and premium features.
  • **Payment:** Processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We never see your payment details.
  • **Restore purchases:** If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore your purchase at no additional cost.
  • **App-specific:** Each app has its own tier purchase. Buying Premium in Zots does NOT unlock Premium in Zyve (they're separate apps).

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions (Zupply)

**Zupply** offers auto-renewable subscription options in addition to lifetime purchases:

  • **Premium Monthly:** $3.99/month, renews automatically
  • **Premium Yearly:** $29.99/year, renews automatically (best value)
  • **Premium Lifetime:** $49.99 one-time purchase
  • **Gold Monthly:** $5.99/month, renews automatically
  • **Gold Yearly:** $49.99/year, renews automatically
  • **Gold Lifetime:** $79.99 one-time purchase
  • **Payment:** Charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
  • **Renewal:** Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • **Management:** You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings
  • **Price changes:** Any price changes will be notified in advance and require your consent to continue

Consumable Purchases

Some apps offer consumable purchases that can be bought multiple times:

  • **Zuzzle hints pack:** $0.99 for 5 hints (consumed when used, can be purchased again)
  • **Zupply OCR Booster Packs:** +10 scans ($1.99) or +30 scans ($4.99) - never expire, only deducted on successful scan

Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google according to their refund policies:

  • Zovia Studio does not directly process refunds, but we'll work with you to resolve any issues with your purchase. Contact hello@zovia.studio if you have concerns.

Weekly Credits (Zistil Only)

Zistil voice search feature uses a weekly credit system:

  • **Free tier:** 5 voice searches per week
  • **Premium tier:** 50 voice searches per week
  • **Gold tier:** 150 voice searches per week
  • Credits reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC
  • Unused credits do NOT roll over to the next week
  • If you run out of credits, you can still use all other Zistil features (manual search, browsing, adding items, etc.)
  • **Note:** Other apps (Zots, Zyve, Zuzzle) do NOT have credit systems. All features are available based on your tier.

User Conduct and Prohibited Uses

**You May Not:**

Prohibited Activities

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Share illegal, harmful, threatening, or abusive content in Spaces or shared data
  • Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, decompile, or compromise our apps or backend systems
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access our services or abuse features
  • Abuse weekly credits (e.g., rapidly using voice search nonsensically to deplete server resources)
  • Manipulate game scores or leaderboards (Zuzzle) using exploits or cheats
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization
  • Interfere with other users' access or enjoyment of our apps
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our apps without written permission
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any malicious code
  • Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or permanent termination without refund.

Your Content and Spaces

Your Content, Your Ownership

You own all the data you create in our apps (inventory items, counters, schedules, calendar activities, game progress, photos, notes, etc.). We don't claim any ownership of your content. By using our apps, you grant us a limited license to store, process, transmit, and sync your content solely to provide our services (cloud storage, multi-device sync, offline access). We won't use your content for marketing, training AI models, or any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Shared Spaces

Spaces allow you to collaborate with others (family, friends, roommates, teammates):

  • You're responsible for whom you invite to your Spaces (vet members carefully)
  • Anyone in a Space can view, edit, or delete shared content (unless marked private)
  • Space owners can remove members at any time (removed members lose access to space data)
  • If a Space owner deletes their account, ownership transfers to the next active member or the Space is deleted
  • We're not responsible for disputes between Space members or data loss caused by member actions

Content Responsibility

You're responsible for your content. Don't upload:

  • Illegal material or content that violates others' rights
  • Malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Offensive, abusive, or harmful content
  • Content that infringes others' copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property
  • We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to monitor, review, or remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Intellectual Property

Our apps, including all software, designs, graphics, text, icons, and the "Zovia" name and logo, are owned by Zovia Studio and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may use our apps for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not: • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our apps • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices • Use our trademarks or branding without written permission

Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

"As Is" Service

Our apps are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that our apps will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zovia Studio is not liable for:

  • Data loss (always maintain backups of critical data)
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Third-party services (Google Places API, Apple/Google payment processing, etc.)
  • Actions of other users in shared Spaces
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you haven't made any purchases).

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Zovia Studio harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our apps, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using our apps and delete your account at any time. See our [Data Deletion](/data-deletion) page for instructions. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse our services. We'll notify you before termination unless prohibited by law. Upon termination, your right to use our apps ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that should reasonably survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via: • In-app notification when you next open the app • Email to your registered email address • Update to the "Effective Date" at the top of this page Continued use of our apps after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, please stop using our apps and delete your account.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Zovia Studio is located, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at hello@zovia.studio to try to resolve it informally. We're reasonable people and want to work things out. If we can't resolve the dispute informally, any legal action must be brought in the courts located in the United States, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
